3 tips for avoiding truck accidents

Allow enough space

According to the Louisiana Department of Public Safety, motorists often benefit from giving truckers a wide berth when sharing the roads. Tractor-trailers typically require longer stopping distances, as well as more space to safely turn. Allowing an extra buffer around these vehicles aids in preventing some crushing, rear-end and other wrecks.

Prepare for turbulence

Particularly in windy conditions, commercial vehicles sometimes create turbulence. These wind gusts sometimes cause other drivers to swerve or otherwise lose control of their automobiles.
